Metallica: Origins Part 1
80’s was a great period for metal music. Metallica and Megadeth, two great bands with great relation between each other were born. Everything started when our well-known friend Lars was looking for a guy to jam. He announced it in a local newspaper. And… magic happened oh yeah: James Hetfield appeared. They played music, did not talk that much (didn’t even saw each other in the eyes more than a few times). But James felt that Lars was the man: He was not the best drummer, but he had the personality. So they started Metallica, with Dave Mustaine (Guitar) and Ron McGovney (Bass).
So in 1982 they recorded a demo in Ron’s garage. It was never officially released, but it can be found online.

Well, the name of this site comes from the name Metallica was going to have.
“Ulrich talked to his friend Ron Quintana, who was brainstorming names for a fanzine. Quintana had proposed the names MetalMania and Metallica. Ulrich used Metallica for the name of his band.”
